Dubbed the “Facade Printer,” this robot creates works of art by blasting paintballs to “print” images on walls. It has a range of 5 feet to 20 feet and uses lasers to precisely place the artwork.
The Facade Printer functionally is like a modified paintball gun. The nozzle which shoots the paintballs is mounted on a 2-axis turntable which is controlled by a few standard motors.
It’s special printing software reads an image file that is converted into wall art. The software does the calculations and positions or scales the image precisely using infra-red.
