This project involved a pair of old sneakers which are hacked to dynamically manipulate a sound file so when you lift and lower your feet, the music gets louder/softer or faster/slower. Pretty neat concept along with an sweet video demonstration. Basically, they use photoresistors which react to light. When there is no light, the music stops, when there is light, the music plays. A simple concept used for a unique, fun purpose.

“The initial idea involved a pair of old sneakers, repurposed, to dynamically manipulate a sound file. Basically I wanted to build shoes that would BOOM! when you walked. The louder you stomp the louder the BOOM! In a sense giant shoes.” Read.
