This DIY Robotic hand mimics the motions of a human counterpart. The controls lie in a special glove which has flex sensors wired to an Arduino which is connected to an XBee radio which wirelessly interfaces with a computer and controls the animatronic hand.
The project has three separate parts – the control glove, the animatronic hand, and the coding that controls it all. The animatronic hand is built with flexible electrical tubing and LEGO bricks. Five independent hobby servos for five fingers are attached to fishing tackle to flex the fingers. A second Arduino with an XBee shield receives wireless signals from the control glove.
