
Persistence of Vision (POV) flashes LEDs at certain moments as it spins, thus creating the “clock” above. The PCB blades are spun around using a PC cooling fan to creat this POV clock. The animation effect is thanks to illuminated LEDs which are synchronized with a Hall Effect senso. The board gets its power wirelessly between a base transformer and a coil on the board.
The display is ever changing as it receives a lot of inputs from the firmware programmed with 3000 lines of code (yeah, seems a little overkill, doesn’t it?). Unlike other clocks, you can actually tweak a lot of the animations and customize the display.
