“Remember the data interface from Minority Report? Well, it’s real, as a point-and-touch interface and it’s about to change the way we interact with data.” Using what appears to be motion capture cameras used for 3D films and animation, his movements and gestures are caputured in real time and applied to the screens in front of him. It’s super cool, of course, but it would be pretty tiring to use holding your arms out in front of you like the conductor of an orchestra. Nonetheless, it’s epic and worth sharing. Skip halfway through to pass the boring parts.

this is epic

This has been done many times before and every time it has the same outcome: great for a short demo, but for extended tasks (more than 10 minutes or so) your arms gets fatigued. Also, it turns out that making digital items take up physical space is shortsighted.

Indeed. Your arms would get tired rapidly. Cool tech nonetheless.

Not epic until we can do it without a screen. There has to be some kind of laser repeating technology that can be used for this. However, then I guess we’d be filling up our offices with fog so we could see the image better. Maybe if it was projected on glass? Of course at this point we might as well just be using smartboards.
Cool idea, highly uneconomical.
