Generous enough to share your wifi with your neighbors Why not your entire neighborhood Set up a wind turbine on your roof to harness the power of wind, convert it into power, plug in your wifi router, and presto, you’re now the world’s newest (and freeist) ISP. Okay, well, it may not reach your entire neighborhood, but it will supply your entire block nevertheless.
“Dan built the charging circuit himself. Essentially the windmill recharges two 12V batteries and the circuit exists to make sure it does not over charge them. The wireless AP/repeater (not in the picture) is connected to the battery terminals.” To convert wind energy to AC power for your router, check out our DIY Free Energy projects.
