Power your car using Magnets

**Update** – This has pretty much been proved false as noted in the comments.

In a retro-HacknMod video, learn to harness the power of magnetic to use perpetual motion to power your engine. This “alternative fuel” can last over 400 years. Magnets arranged in the proper alignment create a rotational motion as seen in the video. This can be used to power an engine the way gasoline currently does. Enjoy the vid! Hopefully it inspires you like it did me!

Dear Sir,

I am interested in running a generator on magnets, where can I get the plans.

Don’t have any plans on hand, you’ll just have to use the power of google.

It’s mainly theoretical science, yes.

Sigh, really? I didn’t think I would see this here.
Many people have tried to build these machines, and the laws of thermodynamics have always caught up with them. It is not a matter of the energy contained in a magnet, you simply cannot extract energy by rotating through a permanent magnetic field – that is just how magnetics works. Magnets may seem magic, but they obey well established rules like everything else; and sadly I don’t think this guy is going to prove them wrong.

Some good discussions of the long history of, and why permanent magnet motors cannot work here:

Wikipedia article on Steorn is worth a read too.

the one in this vid wont work granted
but perpetual motion in a a way does exsist. smart pulsed motors can be used to push a magnetic perpetual device through its areas of resistance. and technically this isnt perpetual motion as its not free eneergy. but done correctly means that systems are over 100% power efficient. my first prototype shoddy as it was was 107% and cuz of no bearings it wore itself out. my second revised motor is better about 118%. this idea is widely hidden by energy companies i mean think about it FREE ENERGY will screw them over. the power gains apparently increase with the size of the device. mine being about a shoe box size and made of scraps just about powers a 20w bulb. when i manage to get my own house this idea will turn into me being free of the evil corporations as all heating lighting and transport could essentially become free. hope this helped

Yes, this does work and it works well. I pulled the gas engine out of my car. I’ve been driving my car for over three years on magnet power alone (it came to me in a dream), using the 32 degree theory in a gyro effect (I discovered this one). The horse power isn’t all that great (but it will twist your arm off) and is not powerful enough to reach speeds over 50 MPH, but it beats paying for gas. Oh, had to make a smaller version to power the running lights. I also have one in the house. It runs the coffee pot, toaster and blender (microwave, fridge and stove is too much). I’m building the biggest one yet that will power the house, but I’m out of magnets :( Sorry, I’m keeping this secret to myself (for now). I wish I could blurt out my secret for speed control. My MagnaMotor + 12V alternator + Power Inverter = House Power.
