We’ve featured a few CNC projects in the past, and here’s another superbly documented DIY build to help you build your own CNC. At the heart of the software is a CNC stepper motor controller board that drives all 3-axis of the CNC router. With a resolution of 1/50 inches for each axis, this CNC has enough accuracy to mill intricate designs. The complete listing of materials is available in the build project outline.
With a working area of (X, Y, Z) equal to (450 mm, 250 mm, 110 mm), the router operates at a maximum speed of 2400 mm/minute along the X and Y axis. With a total of 42 parts, the cost for this machine was about $1200.00. Check out the full build details.
