We’ve seen plenty of DIY portable consoles in the past (Atari, PS3, NES, Xbox 360, you name it) through standard text and picture tutorials. This time, however, we have a snazzy video tutorial. “Building a smaller, more portable package isn’t rocket science, but making sure you have the right tools, parts and instructions will insure your mod will be a successful one.”

Nope, you cannot use a screen from a ds, gba, sp, or any other screen that does not support analog video input. That includes 99.9% of portable dvd players. PSX and hipgear screens are easy and cheap. I suggest they be used.
