Kinect + 3D Printer = DIY Souvenirs
With the combination of a Kinect and a CNC 3D printer, this installation allows tourists to create a souvenir of themselves. The person strikes a pose on the pedestal, and the image is converted into numerical code which is then sent to the 3D printer. An ingenious implementation of a CNC, the miniature statues are a neat demonstration of the powers of the Kinect and the future of DIY 3D printing. More details available on the Vimeo page.
