In this tutorial, we’ll be showing you how to watch a live feed from your webcam on your iPhone or iPod touch from anywhere in the world. Setup is pretty simple, basically just download and install a windows program and the necessary app and you’re ready to stream live.
What You’ll Need:
- WebcamXP Pro
- iPod touch or iPhone
- An app called “I-C-Livecams“
How to Setup your Streaming Webcam:
- The first thing you should do is download “i-c-livecams” from the app store and install WebcamXP Pro on your computer. Of course, be sure your webcam is plugged in and you see your webcam’s live feed on webcamXP.
- Click the web/broadcast tab on WebcamXP to show you your IP address and the port that it’s using.

Setting it up:
- On your iTouch/iPhone start up i-c-livecams.
- In the private icons section select your iPod or iPhone’s name. (Ex: my ipods name is “Matt’s ipod”)

- Choose “Add a new WebcamXP Camera”
- Fill in your IP address and your port with the correct information from the web/broadcast tab on WebcamXP. You can name your camera anything you want, if you set a username and password on Webcam XP then also fill in the correct information. For example: Name: Living Room Host or IP address: 0.0.0.0Â port: 80 Camera #: 1
If all of the information you provided on i-c-livecams was correct you should now be online and watching the live feed on your ipod or iphone.

Another option is to use Orb. It allows you to view media remotely, including streaming from a TV tuner and supports USB webcams.

Very straightforward tutorial. It went very well up until the end.
I get a “can’t find host” error on my iPod. I have a home network and used ipconfig to get my IP address but … “can’t find host”. Any thoughts?

Hello Tom
One option is to open a port on your router… I have a DI-524 and what I do to open a port is I…
â— go to mozilla firefox or internet explorer and type in “http://(default gateway address)
to find that you go to RUN and type in CMD, then “ipconfig”, there you will find your ip address, Subnet mask , and default gateway…
â— it will then ask you for a user name and password.
My username on the di-524 is admin and there is no password. you can find your username and password on the internet, just search for a list of usernames and passwords.
â— then is you have a d-link go to “wireless” menu, and click advanced.
Name: anything you want
Private IP: your ip address
Protocol Type: TCP
Private Port: anything
Public Port: the port you want to access it with Ex. 80
Schedule: always
Then set the port on webcam xp to the one you added ex. 80, and set the port on yout ipod to the same…
Hope it works out

It’s even easier now – with the latest iPhone “Live Cam” app you don’t need the WebcamXP Pro application anymore. you can use the “Barry Egeter Live Cams” software (link ist the one in the text above)
With that you can connect to your IP cam directly. VERY EASY and seamless. I have my router forwarding the port from my free DLINKDDNS to the IP Cam and can now also easily connet from anywhere in the world to the IP Cam on my iPhone. Set up took me couple of minutes.

I-C-LiveCams got removed from the app store.

I use an App called ProcamPlus and works like a charm. Has Mac and Windows compatibility. Since I’m a total Mac dude, I love it. highly recommend it
