I setup teathering on my Iphone so i can connect to it via bluetooth or by the usb sync cable.

I haven’t tried it, but, if it converts one protocol to another (i.e. Wi-Fi to G3) it’s a router.

I believe this is called an ad-hoc configuration, not actually a wireless router that may seem to be available for the G1. The iPhone is simply a gateway or portal to the internet.

It is using wi-fi between the iphone and the computer to acess the internet via 3G or egde technology on the iphone

It’s called tethering dan and it has nothing to do with wi fi it uses edge and 3g

dont give people false information, its not a router, its just using the wifi card in the iphone or ipod touch for use on a computer without a pci or usb wifi card.
