Well, we have some bizarre news for you today. The last day and a half, HacknMod has been down because at our data center, electrical gear shorted, creating an explosion and fire that knocked down three walls surrounding our electrical equipment room. Thankfully, no one was injured. Seriously, read more.
ThePlanet is a massive datacenter in Houston, Texas who hosts our servers. On Saturday, their systems went down and at first, they stated:
“Today at approximately 5:45 p.m., a transformer in our H1 data center in Houston caught fire, thus requiring us to take down all generators as instructed by the fire department. All servers are down.”
Later, they went on to state:
“This evening at 4:55pm CDT in our H1 data center, electrical gear shorted, creating an explosion and fire that knocked down three walls surrounding our electrical equipment room. Thankfully, no one was injured. In addition, no customer servers were damaged or lost.”
Wait…the report just changed from a fire, to a massive explosion…Hmmm. Anyways, we apologize for the downtime, they’re was nothing we could do about the situation. It wasn’t just us who was down, approximately 12,000 other sites were down as well. Too bad they haven’t posted any pictures, I wonder what the destruction of 3 walls and an entire floor of equipment looks like…The good news is we’re back and ready to keep posting awesome Hacks N Mods. Thanks for your patience.
