The odds are, you’ve popped in Super Mario Bros to your NES and came face to face with the blinking screen of death. Blowing on the cartridge may work, but the real issue lies in the console’s 72 pin connector. It’s affordable and easy to replace. It can be purchased on ebay for a few dollars and only takes a few minutes to replace. The video above is a great demonstration of how to replace this component.

Hey, thanks for telling me this, because I’ve experienced the blinking screen for a LONG TIME, but is there any store where you would be able to buy the 72 pin connector other than buying it on eBay? Because it takes a while to get crap off of eBay… If you know anything, please respond.

i just disabled my lockout chip. that fixes the blinking screen. the 72 pin connector in mine just causes the game to not load smetimes, and it’s still the original connector. disabling the lockout chip is as easy as just pulling out pin 4. there are visual guides on it. now my battletoads game works.
