Everyone enjoys digital photography and taking pictures on the go, but without a tripod blurry photos is an all too common disappointment. To take the best-possible pictures without fancy equipment and heavy gear to carry around learn to create a DIY on the go tripods to take your next stunning photos. Of course, we also sell flexible tripods (like the one above) in our store for just $8.49.

This first tip enables you to take better snaps without the need of a much needed tripod and carrying the tripod around everywhere you go, but with the added benefit of image stabilization. You basically grab a bolt or screw, which the video doesn’t specify, but you’ll need a 1/4-20 screw, tie a piece of string on one end and tie something you can step on the other (like a big washer), the string has to be about your own height.

Our next tip will cost probably less than the last one but is just as helpful; perfect for taking great self portraits when you’re tripodless. Using the same type of screw as in the last time (1/4-20), a matching nut and an empty plastic bottle which should be filled later for counterweight, you can craft a quick ‘n dirty camera stand, for those times when you can’t find an adequate surface for that perfect snap.

The same guy who brought us wiimote hacks also created this $14 steadycam. It’s dirt simple to create and is incredibly versitile as shown above. Although it’s a little less portable, it’ll allow you to capture crisp, smooth shots without the blur.

Our last tip is a bit more elaborate, requiring more materials and a bit of ingenuity, but the results are equally as fascinating. Again, with the same 1/4-20 bolt and some flexible but sturdy wire, you can create your own bendable and versitile tripod, perfect for placing your camera in almost any location, hanging from a tree branch or mounted on the roof of your car, perhaps?

Remember, there are other great places to place your camera, such as on a kite or a spy plane, the possibilities are endless! Be sure to check out Digital Photography School for more tips and tricks.
