Using free planetarium software to simulate the night sky, this DIYer built a star map on his wall using fiber optics. The Star Map is built on a 2m wide and 1.2m tall wooden frame, weighs 14kg, has 2000 fiber stars, and 108 LED stars. If your carpentry, soldering, and circuit designing skills are on par, you can make your own version of the star map.

You can pick up some fiber optic strands in our store. A mix ‘n match of LED intensities helps to simulate different parts of the night sky.
