
If you’ve ever wanted to build your own batman-like spotlight, look no further! As you can see from the picture above, this thing looks it matches the high powered light seen in the movies. The 1000W Xenon searchlight build uses some recycled parts including a trashcan as the main housing.

The Xenon lamp sits inside the metal trashcan along with the parabolic reflector. The separate starter circuit jumpstarts the lamp with a pulse of 30 Kilovolts. From there, the power supply takes over. The power supply is a reworked 100W inverter from an arc welder supplying constant current powering the 50 Amps 20 V Xenon lamp. You have gauges giving the voltage and ampere readings on the outside. The video goes into the build details.
