Build Your Own Coil Gun II

In the past, HacknMod has featured several different versions of magnetic coil guns and rail guns. The newest addition is the most simple build yet, making use of a spare computer power supply, a few parts from radio shack, and of course, copper coils. “This my first build for my Gauss Gun project. I have wanted to do this for a long time but I never had any beefy SCR’s or HV capacitors to complete the project. Suffice it to say I improvised and used some high current relays and decided on a more complex 3 stage coil design since without the massive current burst provided by the capacitor it would be difficult to gain significant speed with fewer stages.”
