Animate with Light using LEDs and Exposures
Using the exposure feature on your camera, you can essentially draw with LEDs and the camera will capture the movement of the LED, creating a solid line. Here are two tutorials which show you how to turn these pictures into animated light videos. The first tutorial won a $15K Laser Cutter and the second one is just for an indy music video. The second film kind of reminds me of those Sprint commercials…This is definitely a fun technique to play with, you can create all sorts of cool art. Or, who cares about art, it’s also fun to capture an LED flying through the air after being launched by a slingshot.
