Speech recognition is super cool, that is…if it works. While Google Voice’s voice to text definitely still needs improvement, this Android app looks near perfect. Not only does it understand what you’re commanding it to do, but it also gives intelligent responses as if you were talking to another human being. It reminds us of Jarvis, the robot which Tony Stark communicates with in his lab. Check out the video below for the stunning demo.

uhh… this uses googles voice api just like speech to text. They just used it to build an app that controls a lot of common tasks.

Hmmm….seems far, far more accurate than their text to speech technology. Anyone try this hands on with their Android phone and can tell us if it works as good as advertised?

I find that if you don’t have an american accent you can’t use it. It doesn’t understand my New Zealand accent at all, drives me crazy! anyone know of a way I can download something so it will pick up my accent? (I’m no good at faking an american one)

@Anonymous
Same problem with a British accent – maybe we could get someone to coach us in speaking with an American accent?

I have the latest android OS and have an English accent and would like to say… wow! Voice recognition works perfectly! Wrote a whole email and it got just two words wrong! Truly don’t know how they’ve managed it. Oh and I typed this with the speech recognition software too, only have to put in punctuation!!
