This man built his own Bat Man Tumbler from the film Batman Begins.  It’s a jaw dropping accomplishment for one man and we all wish it was parked on our driveways.  He built the tumbler completely from the wheels up modeled directly from the film to be as accurate as possible.

The car sits on a steel chassis and the body plates are molded from epoxy reinforced with fiberglass matte. The suspension system was scratch built. Under the hood you can hear the throb of a Chevy 350 HO Deluxe engine. It’s a heavy duty motor, normally meant for off-roaders. The 44-inch Super Swamper tires are of course, store bought. From the front wheels to the rear, the Tumbler is 15 feet long, 5 feet high and 9.5 feet wide.

Definitely a superb build to add to our DIY car projects collection.

Ever wanted that secret place in your house that only you and you family know about? Hell yes!  Believe it or not, it’s actually not that hard. In fact, all you need is a spare bookcase and some basic hardware and electronic components.  We’ve found two more superb ways to create DIY secret passageways in addition to our previous post:

The first type of rotating door in the video above revolves around a central axis, allowing you access through the small, resulting gaps. This is handy if you have limited space available and don’t want a big old book case swinging into your room.

The second type of door is dirt simple to create.   It’s literally just a bookcase put on standard door hinges with coasters added to the bottom.  A superb, simple weekend project!  Both guides suggest that the total cost of this (assuming you do it yourself) is less than $150 if you use budget furniture (probably best to find lightweight shelving, of course).

3. Hot Rock case Mod for Xbox 360


The LED on the side glows with the rise in temperature of the gaming console. It’s time to switch off but not before admiring the LED luminescence.

4. Xbox 360 Hellboy Case Mod



Comic books and movies are the inspirations for case mods this year. If it was the Wall-E case mod or the Star Wars Nintendo Wii Case Mod then, it’s a Hellboy inspired case mod for the Xbox 360.

5. Chrome HDMI Case Combo



While this wasn’t done custom (it was a kit), the High Quality Chrome HDMI Case definitely adds style to the otherwise bland, white console.

6. Master Chief Helmet Case Mod


Another Halo inspired case but modeled on the Master Chief’s helmet. The Xbox bares its innards through the cutout in the shape of Master Chief’s visor.

7. Xbox 360 Laptop Mod



Why go back to being a computer when you are an Xbox? Because you get to be portable with a 17? 1280×720 progressive-scan LCD VGA monitor and Water-cooled custom-built radiator. A keyboard and Wi-Fi gives you the best of both worlds. Created by Ben Heck.

8. The 360 PC



This modder added keyboard and mouse functionality to his Xbox making it a compact, powerful “PC” but has the power of the Xbox to play cutting edge games.

9. Water Cooled Xbox Mod




Play your favorite games without worrying about the Red Ring of Death.  It’s temperature controlled with cool blue water.

10. Half Life Mod



An Xbox case mod with a game theme is common, but what’s not common is the detail that goes into this Half Life inspired mod with cut away windows and raised HL2 logos.

11. Rockstar Case Mod



This one is for the GTA buff. All in silver and orange, with controllers to match, the case mod gives a transparent peek into its guts.  It’s a special edition Xbox, not a custom case mod, but it looks stunning so we’re including it on the list.

12. The Joker Inspired Xbox 360 Mod
    




The Joker’s face pokes out accompanied by the now famous line, “Why so serious?” Creepy, but definitely a fantastic mod for Batman fans.

13. Gear of War Case Mod



This one looks evil and wicked. Blame it on the Gear of Wars addict who wants to kick some ass with this deadly mod.

14. The Xbox Millennium Falcon



If you know your Star Wars, you would want this to play your favorite Star Wars classics.  Although it’s the original Xbox, it’s still worthy of being added to the list for inspiration.

A tribute to the University of Texas, this burnt orange stylish Xbox mod features a Longhorn logo as a window.

1.  ‘78 Covette Turned into a DIY Batmobile

Using nothing but his bare hands, some high density foam, glossy black paint, and fiberglass, one modder took his beat up ‘78 corvette and resurrected it into the 1989 batmobile. 2. Build your own Lamborghini

Thought you couldn’t afford a Lambo? Think again. One man designed and built is own Lamborghini frame, documenting the build with plenty of photos along the way. Although it may not have the ridiculous horsepower under the hood, it has the sexy body. Check out the project build and photo gallery.

3. DIY Retro Mercedes Conversion

Not a whole lot of info is available on this one besides the photos, but this Russian modder did some exceptional body work to make his old Mercedes look like  a sleek new one.  Perhaps he just used the power of Bondo .

4. DIY Back to the Future Delorean

By modifying a 1981 Delorean complete with gull-wing rise up doors, you can easily construct your own Back to the Future replica. One man documented his entire build process with plenty of detailed pictures to go along with it.

Man makes trap door bookshelf – And teaches you how! Ever seen those hidden bookshelves in the Munsters or Scooby Doo? Always wanted one of your own? Hell yeah!
